Lynne from Half Yard Sewing Club
l enjoyed reading through this to review it. 13 Quick and easy projects suing braiding with you fabric strips.
A difference to other books with acknowledgements at the beginning of the book, and then you see pictures of all the projects, to give you a taster before you start reading through. The author also gives you general info, as well as Seam allowance to achieve the strip blocks fit neatly and not have bunching or tightness. She talks about pressing instead of ironing, so as not to distort your sewing. The author also talks about basic braiding and trimming the braids, as well as using fabric colour to give you movement.
There are 125 templates in the book, and they are easy to copy or trace so as not to destroy the book.
The photos throughout the book are amazing and show you just what colours go together to give you a vibrant Braid strip to add to quilts, as well as using them as side pieces to extend your quilt or even to add colour to your bindings.
There are step-by-step instructions for each project, and it is as if she is holding your hand all the way through.
A beautiful book to add to your collection, and l can't wait to start some of the braids. Well done Kate Colleran, l would deffo recommend this book.
