All Things Crafty
Ive only recently learnt crochet and to say I am hooked (no pun intended!) is an understatement! I have already bought an earlier Search Press book that Leonie Morgan wrote which is incredible so I was super excited to see there was a new book!
Corner to Corner Blankets to Crochet is another fabulous book for anyone interested in crochet! Instead of working in the round, like you would for Granny Squares, corner to corner crochet involves working diagonally.
If you havent tried this technique before then this book will help to guide you through it with 18 blanket designs and 2 additional projects, clear photos, and written instructions along with colour charts. The book starts with a visually engaging contents list (I love it when there are images so you can see straight away which projects are enticing you in!). Chapter 1 covers the techniques needed to do corner to corner including materials, stitches, joining, tension, blocking and more. Chapter 2 is the blanket patterns (and chapter 3 includes the 2 further projects). All of the photography in this book is sensational! It is so bright, vibrant, clear and engaging.
Each project is clearly presented with a title, skill level, hook size, finished project size, yarn required and the abbreviations used. There is then a colour chart as well as written instructions for you to follow to create your own corner to corner project!
Ive never done corner to corner before so I came to this as a complete newbie. I found the book so inspiring and I was keen to start straight away. The patchwork half squares project immediately drew me in! I followed the books instructions (along with a quick watch of a corner-to-corner video tutorial by fellow Search Press author Bella CoCo) and I am so, so pleased with the results!
It is safe to say that I well and truly love corner-to-corner crochet, and I love this book! Leonie Morgan has created another fabulous and inspiring crochet book!
